Quality Control Tech Entry Level (Manchester, NH)

 

   

Job Description Summary

Redmix is looking to hire an Entry-Level Quality Control (QC) Tech to be based at our Manchester, NH facility. The selected candidate could also travel to other locations throughout NH.

 

As a QC Tech within our QC group, the selected candidate will learn about the quality control process and practices Redimix follows in order to maintain the highest standard of quality. The QC Tech will be exposed to a variety processes which will include; sampling and testing of raw materials, sampling and testing in the field, learning about the mix design process, volume yields, air contents, water contents and other design attributes.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work at the concrete batch plant to learn about and assist with the process control through material sampling and completing gradations and moisture testing in a safe and productive manner.
  • Become familiar with various specification requirements.
  • Field testing to include unit weight, yield, air content, and slump.
  • Communicate with QC personnel on test results.
  • Learn to interpret test results, provide possible adjustments if out of specification. Maintain control charts when necessary.

 

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast pace, stressful environment
  • Ability to work in a team setting.
  • The candidate will commute to other batch plant locations and various jobsites, and must have a reliable source of transportation.

We are seeking a safety minded, qualified, detail oriented, highly organized individual with strong computer skills with knowledge of current operating systems to operate and maintain the concrete batch plant.   Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: basic math skills to understand batch materials such as cement, water, aggregates and admixtures and the proportions (weights) of mixes being batched.  Must have excellent customer service, phone and communication skills and the ability to multitask.

Classification: Year round hourly.

Requirements:

Field Mechanic (Berwick, ME)

Seeking a qualified, versatile, safety minded candidate to work as a Mechanic based in Manchester, NH.  The right candidate will drive form one destination to another throughout New Hampshire as needed to repair and maintain machinery and equipment under the direction of their supervisor.  Classification:  year round hourly position.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to trouble shoot and maintain all types of heavy equipment including but not limited to: mixers, dump trucks, pickups, loaders.

QC Technician, Morse Ready Mix (Plainville, MA)

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the overall quality control management of raw materials, bulk intermediate and finished products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in process materials, raw materials, environmental samples, finish goods and stability samples

  • Calibrate, validate or maintain laboratory equipment
  • Compile laboratory test data and perform appropriate analyses
  • Complete documentation needed to support testing procedures including data capture forms, equipment logbooks or inventory forms
  • Evaluate analytical methods and procedures to determine how they might be improved
  • Identify quality problems and recommend solutions
  • Interpret test results, compare them to established specifications and control limits, and make recommendations on appropriateness of data for release
  • Investigate or report questionable test results
  • Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods or protocols
  • Participate in out-of-specification and failure investigations and recommend corrective actions
  • Perform validations or transfers of analytical methods in accordance with applicable policies or guidelines
  • Prepare or review required method transfer documentation including technical transfer protocols or reports
  • Receive and inspect raw materials
  • Review data from contract laboratories to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Supply quality control data necessary for regulatory submissions
  • Write technical reports or documentation such as deviation reports, testing protocols and trend analyses
  • Coordinate testing with contract laboratories and vendors
  • Develop and qualify new testing methods
  • Ensure that lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems
  • Participate in internal assessments and audits as required
  • Serve as a technical liaison between quality control and other departments, vendors or contractors
  • Train other analysts to perform laboratory procedures and assays
  • The position will also be responsible for implementing new initiatives for the Morse Ready Mix production - plant division
